Tour Insider: Verizon Heritage

April 18th, 2008 · 2 Comments

We spoke with Skip Haugen this week, one of the FootJoy representatives on the PGA Tour, and he had some interesting feedback regarding the MyJoys with the new camo leather pattern. Shipped to a handful of players the week before the Masters, Skip said the reaction has been great from players and fans. Boo told Skip his MyJoys “caused quite a stir in Augusta, both inside and outside the ropes.” Davis Love also raised some eyebrows when he wore them during the Pro-Am this week. He told Skip “I could have sold about a dozen pair of these MyJoys during the Pro-Am…everyone loved them!”

In addition to Boo and Davis, you can also keep an eye on these players who also requested the new camo leather pattern -David Toms, John Riegger and Brett Wetterich, who also wore them last week in Augusta.

Who wore the Classics Dry Premiere at Masters?

Chris Garrett wrote on April 24 2008 at 02:01:31 PM

Thanks for your question, Andrea. To be honest with you, it’s difficult for us to know what style shoes the players wear each week unless, like you, we see them during the television coverage! Some players like to alternate styles depending on the weather conditions, the course terrain or just to try something different. However, with nearly 65% of all FootJoy Tour players wearing Classics, you can be sure all the styles were represented at the Masters, including the Classics Dry Premiere.
